WE CUDDLE IN THE EVENING

Our story begins when I toured the Humane Society Silicon Valley facility in Milpitas, CA.  I became friends with the Director of Development there. I had wanted to adopt a dog as it had been almost 3 years since my beautiful rescue, Lady, had passed away but I put it off due to traveling. My friend at the HSSV asked what type of dog I wanted when I did decide to adopt.  I said I would like a dog that didn't shed (this time), medium size and about 2 years old.  Well, one day she called and said, "Karen, I have your dog"!  Ed and I drove from Tahoe to HSSV and visited with "Chili" who is now our "Max."  

For a sweet dog who had been living on the streets in San Jose, had kennel cough, an ear infection and just been neutered he immediately wanted to play with both Ed and me.  Max was a happy boy!  After this one visit, Ed and I both knew that Max would be part of our family.  I returned a few days later and we adopted him.

Max, Ed and I love our time together. He affects our lives with lots of exercise! First thing in the morning, I open his crate in our room and give him some loving and scratches. While I am dressing, he jumps in bed with Ed for some more scratches! Max and I then go for a walk, at least a mile or more. When we return, he runs to Ed for some loving. 

We have intermittent play time often.  Max loves to play with his toys, balls and his favorite "tug of war."  He adores our 6 year old granddaughter and loves to chase her.  Since she is young, she can run until they are both exhausted!  Always fun to watch them.

We cuddle in the evening while watching TV.  He always wants to know where I am and also likes to check on Ed, too.  I can only say that Max has added so much fun to our "senior" lives!  He keeps us active, and we love every minute of it!   We have received unconditional love from Max, and we have plenty to give back to him!
