HE WAS SCARED

Coming home to these two smiling faces makes it all worth while. My house is so filled with love when there is a rescue in the house. I will never be without one.

Leeloo was left out during winter with her six littermates. A local rescue took them in, and six months later, I met her and was instantly in love. She is the cutest thing that has ever lived. She has an under bite that just makes me want to kiss her all the time. She had parvo as a puppy in the rescue, so she is uncomfortable being held or picked up. So I let her dictate how I snuggle with her (and much more, she really runs the place). I think she knows what she has now and knows she deserves it.

Gordon was my first really troubled child. He came into the shelter as a stray with no idea of his background. Two days into his new home I discovered that his neuter incision had become inflamed and irritated. We rushed to the emergency vet. He was scared and sometimes expressed it in loud "get away" barks. He was the first pet that I thought I may not be able to handle. However, he loved me so much that I knew I couldn't give up on him. He was just confused. Now it has been almost two years. He loves tennis balls, so much he broke his toe chasing after one! Everyday he gets better and better.
