ANIMAL CONTROL STEPPED IN...

Murphy was a dog that rescued me. His sweet face and sad story held me captive and I had to make sure he was mine and I was definitely his. I call him my 'little guy’ - even though he's not little!

Murphy’s background was to be a fighting dog from his first owner but it just was not in his personality, so he became a bait dog. Animal Control stepped in to save this “little guy”. When I came across his picture on the county website, he was scheduled to be euthanized in 2 days and I just couldn’t let that happen! So I made him mine and he adjusted much faster than I thought considering his background!

At the same time I found Murphy, I was in the middle of a divorce. While most of us know that all dogs are sensitive to emotion, Murphy seems extra in tune as he brought me out of those dark spaces by being his sweet and funny self!

He’s the funniest dog I’ve ever had, he's almost human. When we ride in the car he rests his paw on the window and gazes out at everyone like 'hey, how's it going?’. He is protective and indulgent, even of the neighbor’s children.

He may have a big bark that can sound tough but his little stub wags happily the whole time.
