A SOURCE OF COMFORT FOR US BOTH AS WE TALKED ABOUT LIFE AND PEACE

I was smitten by Toby within the first ten minutest of meeting him. We went in the car and he simply sat on my lap and hooked his chin over my forearm, as if he was always supposed to be there. In that moment, I fell in love. As a companion to my mother, Toby was a source of comfort for us both as we talked about life and peace. When I lost my mother, Toby never left my side.

I knew then that Toby had found his new forever home with my husband and I. So, I prepped him for the long journey from South Africa to California, getting him a comfortable oversized crate, equipped with hand and face towels as well as two small pillows. After two long days of travel, Toby at last joined our family. Our bond has been strong ever since, and Toby continues to be a comfort to us and a connection to my mother with every moment. He expresses gratitude to me and others with his unconditional love in his own special way of saying “thank you".
